Rangers: Scott Allan not happy after what he saw v Celtic on BBC Sportscene
Scott Allan has blasted Rangers’ defensive dithering which caused the only goal of the game in Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-final, as featured on BBC Sportscene.
He was not happy with what he saw from several Rangers players, as Jota took full advantage to secure the 1-0 win for Celtic.
Defeat means the season is effectively over for Michael Beale’s side with nothing left to play for in a competitive sense.

Allan touched on the familiar failing in the Old Firm derby and something that Beale will need to eradicate quickly.
“From a Rangers perspective, that’s such a poor goal to lose,” he said.
“Again, I don’t know how many times this season we’ve seen players switch off from free-kicks. Celtic take it quickly, as everyone who watches Scottish football weekly knows.”

Self-destruct
How many times? Allan mentioned what every Rangers supporter was thinking as that horror goal unfolded. It was Groundhog Day, time and time again over the last couple of seasons Celtic have been gifted these clear-cut chances.
It was another contest in which the Gers provided plenty of effort and endeavour but the end product in both boxes just wasn’t good enough, no real incision or ruthless edge.
Chances came to score but they weren’t taken and whilst Allan McGregor didn’t have the busiest of games, the key moment for the goal was caused by Rangers own doing, with this infuriating self-destruct.
Last time at Parkhead, it was Ben Davies and John Souttar whilst yesterday at Hampden it was a collective calamity.
We have seen it all before.
Beale can change his personnel all he wants but there will be no progress until Rangers sort out this persistent problem.
