Rangers ready near-£4.3million bid to sign Luis Palma as transfer hurry emerges from Greece
Rangers are pushing to close a deal for Honduran attacker Luis Palma “as soon as possible” ahead of the competition, according to The Transfer Geek.
The 23-year-old has been attracting widespread attention with multiple bids from different countries are already thought to have been rejected.
But after scouting him a number of times it appears the Gers are pressing ahead to secure an agreement with a €5million bid expected imminently [£4.3million].
Reporting via Twitter the Transfer Geek said: “Rangers want to close the deal with Aris FC and Luis Palma as soon as possible. The Honduran talented player receives a lot of interest, KRC Genk are also interested.
“Rangers will make a €5Μ offer to Aris FC for Palma really soon.”
In the story on their website they add that the Gers are looking to get a deal done immediately ahead of an anticipated rush of offers, with a Manchester United scout also singling the attacker out in the 2-1 win over Olympiacos on Wednesday (26 April) where he scored the opener.
As long as the Light Blues meet the asking price as reported it is considered “certain” he will be at Ibrox next season.
Quick
Palma is on the brink of a move somewhere with interest exploding from all over the world, and Rangers are clearly looking to ensure it is to Glasgow.
With Ryan Kent apparently on the way out and the squad in need of a spark as Michael Beale attempts to reel in Celtic this appears to be a pursuit to land a direct replacement.
And with money expected to be tight the Gers must be serious about this move if they are prepared to meet the asking price.

Palma has recorded 11 goals and seven assists across 33 appearances in all competitions this season which is exactly the sort of impact that Beale needs in his line up.
Kent is frequently criticised for not putting up those numbers regularly enough, so if the Honduran arrives at Ibrox and can make the transition to Scottish football quickly it could be a key move.
There needs to be an overhaul of the squad and it looks like Beale and company are getting ahead of the game in kicking it off.
In other Rangers news, a finance expert has predicted the club to be in line to pay an out-of-court settlement in another multi-million pound legal dispute.
