Barry Ferguson lays out clear verdict on whether Michael Beale should be sacked by Rangers
Barry Ferguson believes Michael Beale has done “more than enough” to stay on as Rangers manager.
The boss has been linked with an exit from Ibrox in recent times, with Michael Grant suggesting in The Times (26 April) he could be sacked before the end of next season if Celtic win the treble in the current campaign.
But Ferguson is convinced that Beale is the right man to help turn the club around, with a major rebuild needed from the manager this summer.

“Before we start, let’s get one thing straight,” Ferguson wrote for the Daily Record. “It would take something out of the ordinary at Hampden this weekend to make me change my mind about Michael Beale.
“As far as I’m concerned, the Londoner has done more than enough in his short time in charge to convince me he’s the right man for the job of turning Rangers around.
“And I’m actually genuinely excited to see what his plans are for the summer because, no doubt about it, a complete rebuild is needed.”

Busy summer ahead
Ferguson is spot on when he says a complete rebuild is needed, with many players simply not up to the task of keeping the pressure on fierce rivals Celtic.
It is almost always hugely competitive between the two Glasgow giants, but that hasn’t been the case in the Scottish Premiership this season.
The Bhoys currently lead the way by 13 points, with five matches left of the campaign, while they also defeated Rangers in the League Cup earlier this year.
Fortunately for the Gers, a Scottish Cup triumph is still on the cards, but plenty of new arrivals will be needed this summer in order for the club to fully get things back on track.
There have also been too many off-field distractions at Ibrox this season, with Beale and his staff needing peace and quiet from those above them in order to be able to carry out their duties to the best of their abilities.
In other Rangers news, the Gers are likely to be facing an out-of-court settlement in their latest legal dispute with the administrators of Elite Sports Group, according to one finance expert.
