Rangers transfer news as Michael Beale watches Lyndon Dykes score for QPR v Norwich
Michael Beale is said to have watched Queens Park Rangers striker Lyndon Dykes find the back of the net against Norwich recently, according to Rangers News.
Prior to that, the Rangers gaffer was said to be at the same game watching Kieran Dowell, even though he’s been injured for weeks.
Beale is said to have attended the recent 1-1 draw between QPR and Norwich with yet more reports adding interest in Chris Willock too [Daily Record].
Despite the highly publicised recent links to Jack Butland as a potential replacement for Allan McGregor, Beale would also have been able to check out Angus Gunn, with the Scotland international mentioned as contender for a move to Glasgow.
The links to Dykes and Willock are intriguing, given the previous relationships in place at Loftus Road, including current Gers assistant boss Neil Banfield.
Hold on a minute
Beale goes back to QPR, where he left under very controversial circumstances and anger from their fans, to scout players for Rangers and he wasn’t pictured at all, or no other noise online about his visit? Really. Would he even go back to the West London club so soon? Something doesn’t add up here.
Firstly, the Scottish Daily Mail delivered their news on interest in Dowell on 24 April, which was followed by Beale supposedly going to watch him, then the Daily Record feature on Willock being the man under close attention.
It could be an intriguing four-way transfer story involving players of interest to Rangers or a case of mischief-making based on existing reports.
Given that Beale and Rangers are expecting wholesale changes in the summer, it really is open season for rumours and transfer links which will see far more names mentioned than those who will actually arrive in Glasgow in the coming months.
