Chris Willock makes it clear he wants to sign for Rangers with 'bargain' QPR transfer on the cards
Michael Beale wants to sign QPR forward Chris Willock in the summer transfer window with the 25-year-old making it clear he wants to move to Rangers, according to the Daily Record.
The newspaper reported via their website on Wednesday night (26 April) that Willock’s contract at QPR expires at the end of the season but the London club has an option to extend that deal by another 12 months.
It is understood that Beale is hoping to sign his former player on either a free transfer or a “bargain basement” deal.
Keith Jackson reports that the former Arsenal attacker is one of Beale’s priority targets for the upcoming summer transfer window as he seeks to overhaul the squad at Ibrox.
A source close to QPR told the Daily Record: “With a player this talent available at a cut down rate – or maybe even for free – it’s a no brainer for Michael. Chris would absolutely jump at the chance and the boy would light up Ibrox.”

Can Rangers please stop taking the easy route with recruitment?
If it’s not Ross Wilson re-signing up players to stay past their welcome at Ibrox and hiring people as managers just because they’ve previously been at the club, it’s Beale signing players who can’t even get into a struggling English Championship team.
Beale’s a big fan of Willock, speaking highly of the former West Brom loanee in September.
“He is an excellent player – look at his CV,” said Beale. “We’re fortunate to have him at QPR. I think he can play at the next level, he just has to make little adjustments.”
Willock has played just 26 times for QPR in England’s second tier this season.
He’s scored six goals and supplied two assists in those games with all of those goals coming when Beale was in charge before he quit Loftus Road to return to Ibrox.
QPR could still be relegated to League One and without their shock win against Norwich at the weekend, they’d be only one point above the drop zone.
QPR have won one, drawn two and lost one of their last four games and the only game Willock has had any role in was the 3-0 defeat at home against Coventry.
We don’t want rubbish players like this padding out the squad at Ibrox.
Celtic are signing international players from Asia and Australia. Why are we looking at freebies from the rough end of the English Championship?
It’s pathetic.
In other Rangers news, Neil Lennon has torn into one of Beale’s signings.
