Antonio Colak confirms change of direction amid uncertainty on his Rangers future
Rangers striker Antonio Colak has announced today that he has agreed terms with new representatives, as revealed on his Instagram account.
The change of direction with the switch to the CAA Stellar agency comes amid doubts over his future at Ibrox, under Michael Beale, with a significant rebuild of the squad expected over the Summer.
The Croatian international arrived in Glasgow last August in a £1.8million transfer from Greek Super League club PAOK. He previously enjoyed a successful loan stint in Malmo where he won the league and was a big factor in eliminating Steven Gerrard’s Gers from last season’s Champions League qualifiers.

The German-born Croat faces an intriguing situation in the coming months at the club, in which he will need to decide if he wants to stay to fight for game time even though he is unlikely to be a priority for the manager in the attacking positions.
“Welcome” was the brief and simple caption on the Instagram announcement, shared by the player.

Decision time
It has been an interesting debut season for the 29-year-old in the first year of his deal that runs through to 2025.
At many other clubs, a return of 13 league goals and 17 overall in a debut campaign would be considered very successful but not at Rangers in the unique environment of Scottish football.
An early purple patch was followed by some inconsistent form then injury but the main obstacle is that he just isn’t a “Beale player” in the way that the English coach wants the team to play.
Colak has played his part but he isn’t going to be a first choice going forward, nor has he been preferred in recent weeks despite the seemingly inevitable departure of Alfredo Morelos.
A significant striker signing will happen at Ibrox over the summer, possibly even two and considering that Kemar Roofe is still in the background, the obvious doubt on Colak’s future viability at Rangers becomes clear.
