Rangers transfer news as Kieran Dowell emerges as new target at Ibrox
Norwich City playmaker Kieran Dowell has emerged as a fresh transfer target for Rangers this summer, according to the Scottish Daily Mail.
The newspaper has reported in its print edition [back page, 25 April] that the England youth international is out of contract when this season ends at Carrow Road.
David Wagner is said to be keen on keeping Dowell, but the midfielder is free to hold talks with other clubs such as Rangers over a free move.

Stephen McGowan has reported that Michael Beale has already held talks with some of his transfer targets, as he likes to meet them in person.
With Ross Wilson leaving for Nottingham Forest earlier this month, the manager did admit that his transfer plans were finalised, so this could certainly have legs.
Dowell would follow Todd Cantwell from Norwich to Ibrox if a move is completed, with the young duo having a chip on their shoulders to prove themselves.

Smart.
With numerous new transfers likely needed in this rebuild for Beale, it makes sense that some of those will need to be done smartly, with unlimited money not exactly available.
Dowell could be available for nothing and would re-energise this midfield that is rapidly aging and showing more signs of decline than progression.
John Lundstram, Ryan Jack, Steven Davis and Scott Arfield are just four names who haven’t been consistently available or good enough and it would be no surprise to see them all move on.
The Norwich City playmaker could be the perfect addition to start with for zero cost, and with Cantwell already at the club, there is an ace up our sleeve.
Dowell has been recovering from knee ligament damage this season, so hopefully that is nearly cleared up and a full pre-season can get him up to speed and ready to go if a move does materialise.
