Rangers transfer news as Bosman deal for Jack Butland to start significant changes - Chris Jack
Michael Beale is poised to seal a deal for Rangers to sign Jack Butland this summer with “significant” changes ahead, according to Chris Jack.
The Herald journalist has reported that the goalkeeper will arrive at Ibrox on a Bosman deal once his contract expires at Crystal Palace in a couple of months.
Not only that, but the keeper will be given the number one jersey for domestic and European competitions as the rebuild is kickstarted In Govan.
Jack wrote following the breaking news: “The Englishman will make significant changes to the squad that he inherited from Giovanni van Bronckhorst ahead of his first full campaign in charge next term.”
That means that Allan McGregor will likely retire when the summer hits, with his illustrious career at Rangers one that will go down in history.
Beale has stuck by the veteran this season, with Robbie McCrorie likely having his fingers crossed that he can move up the ladder slightly this summer too.

Perfect.
This has been needed for years at Ibrox, with too much reliance being placed on the shoulders of these players who are already past their best.
Of course, that is no insult to those who have delivered excellent times over recent years, not forgetting that Europa League final run to Seville, but this season has proved one too many.
Beale has proven that he has an eye for talent with the signings of Nicolas Raskin and Todd Cantwell, with Butland adding that right blend of experience from the Premier League.
Butland will be desperate to prove himself again though, with his loan move to Manchester United simply seeing him make up the numbers for the Red Devils on the bench.
It will be different at Ibrox with the number one shirt and huge responsibility on his shoulders, something that should see him thrive in this amazing atmosphere.
Let’s get this one done and move on to more.
