Official Rangers partner reacts as transfer update emerges on Manchester United keeper Butland
Heart and Hand have compared Manchester United loanee and Crystal Palace goalkeeper Jack Butland to Todd Cantwell as Rangers reportedly close in.
The club’s official partners have made that comparison as both are talented players and have lost their way in recent years.
They are behind the move for him to be replacing Allan McGregor as the new number one with the veteran shot stopper expected to leave in the summer.
Via Twitter, H&H wrote, “Happy with Butland, lost his way a bit a la Cantwell but talented. Also 6f 5 and comes for crosses – that’ll do for now.”
Good move
Butland is a tall keeper who commands his penalty area really well so this is a move that most fans will get behind.

He is a modern-day goalkeeper so is good with the ball at his feet as well and can help Michael Beale’s side play out from the back.
He will also have the incentive to improve as he’s still very much in the reckoning for England and if he plays well and regularly, Gareth Southgate could call him up as well.
Butland is 30 which is close to what the prime is for goalkeepers and he’s clearly being wasted playing as a backup when he deserves to play regularly.
The deal should go ahead sooner rather than later if there aren’t any obstacles as his contract is expiring so he’s free to reach an agreement with Gers as soon as possible.
In other Rangers news, the club may now approach a sporting director who built a Champions League winning team and can hire him for free.
