Rangers: Michael Beale clouds Ryan Kent contract latest amid multiple Friday updates
Michael Beale has shared a fresh update on Ryan Kent’s future at Rangers after it emerged that Alfredo Morelos is unlikely to be at the club next season.
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports on Friday 21 April, in which Beale claimed that everyone apart from Morelos and Allan McGregor from last week’s win over St Mirren could be at Ibrox come the start of the 2023/24.
The Light Blues boss also suggested that he was on “the same page” as Kent when it comes to his future at the Scottish giants, while trying not to give anything away over the final outcome.

However, Beale’s once again added confusion when it comes to the 26-year-old’s future at Ibrox with his follow-up comments at his press conference, suggesting perhaps they aren’t fully aligned.
“There is no news on Ryan’s future. And when there is I am sure it will be announced officially,” said Beale (quoted by Football Scotland, 22 April).
“It is not a matter of persuading. It is about making sure we are on the same page, so it is not a matter of persuading.”
Unsure
Beale may have contradicted himself within the space of 24 hours on Friday. It appeared there was a chance of the 26-year-old staying put at Ibrox but the situation seems to be far from resolved. The Gers boss needs to clarify if he is indeed on the same page as Kent because right now, it’s unclear.
Kent’s form has been under scrutiny during the 2022/23 season. Obviously, he has immense talent, but his return of goals and assists hasn’t been of the level required. He knows Beale very well from their time together at Liverpool, so there’s a chance the Light Blues boss fancies his chances of getting a tune out of the attacker.

If he stays at Ibrox, many will be happy. But, if he leaves, it wouldn’t be the end of the world. A fresh approach is required this summer and moving on a high-earner like Kent could give Beale more room to manoeuvre in the summer window.
In other Rangers news, Beale made a transfer admission to Ally McCoist live on talkSPORT.
