Chris Sutton instantly reacts on Twitter as Rangers lose 2-0 v Aberdeen

Chris Sutton has reacted instantly online after Rangers suffered a 2-0 defeat to Aberdeen at Pittodrie to put Celtic within touching distance of the title.

The Gers failed to score for the first time under Michael Beale as two second-half goals condemned the team to their first loss under the manager against a team other than Celtic.

The defeat means Celtic now need just three points to confirm a second consecutive league title despite them dropping points to Motherwell on Saturday (22 April), and he was quick to ensure everyone knew about it.

“Interesting weekend in Scotland,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account (23 April).

“A couple of people questioning the strength of the league in recent times. Well played Motherwell (other than the time wasting) and Aberdeen today were outstanding.

“Celtic extend their lead at the top over the weekend. One win away.”

Take it

Sutton always has a lot to say for himself at the weekends, but when he goes against Rangers it’s because we constantly give him ammunition.

This is a game that we are supposed to be winning, because we want to be considered as the best team in Scotland and that means we need to beat everyone to prove it.

Rangers

Nobody turned in a good performance on Sunday (23 April) in the game and with a Scottish Cup semi-final against Celtic up next, things are not looking good right now.

The summer window is needed desperately to put things right with this squad, because there are far too many passengers that are costing us on a regular basis.

For now we have to just sit back, bite our tongues and take our medicine when it comes from Sutton and trust that Beale is the right man to put things right in the summer and get our own back next season.
