Andy Walker wowed by ‘magnificent’ first-half moment in Rangers clash v Aberdeen
Sky Sports pundit Andy Walker was amazed by the intervention of Leighton Clarkson for Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership clash with Rangers.
The on-loan Liverpool player made an acrobatic headed clearance to deny an opener for Alfredo Morelos in the Sunday afternoon clash at Pittodrie.
Walker was alongside Ian Crocker in his usual co-commentary role for Sky Sports’ live Scottish coverage in the contest between third and second in the table.

Speaking on Sky Sports Football on Sunday (23 April, 4:42pm), Walker said:
“It’s a great cross from Tavernier to the back post. Sakala gets up so well, look at him here nodding it back to Morelos.”
“And then Leighton Clarkson takes up such a good position, he keeps it out because Kelle Roos was nowhere near it.”
“This was going into the back of the net. Magnificent clearance.”
Gilt-edged
As well as that close call for Morelos, Fashion Sakala had another opportunity just moments later which he really should have scored.
The couple of minutes around either chance for Rangers came in a blistering start to the game.
As usual at Pittodrie in this fixture, it was fast and frenetic as both sides made forward strides but the best of the early attempts fell to the visitors.
However, Walker was right in that it was an excellent clearance from Clarkson.
He had the awareness and positional sense to sense the danger and then make the desired impact for his team.
Michael Beale will have been impressed with how his team got a foothold in the fixture but that has to be backed up with making it count in the Dons’ box.
If the Gers are to come back down the road with three points, they will need to capitalise when on top.
