Rangers and Celtic could try to sign Hibernian striker Kevin Nisbet this summer – Tam McManus
Tam McManus believes Rangers and Celtic will be “having a sniff” around Hibernian striker Kevin Nisbet about a summer transfer, he told PLZ Soccer.
Nisbet has scored ten goals for Hibs in 13 appearances so far this season, and was subject of a £2m bid in January from Championship side Millwall before opting against making the move down south.
His current contract is due to expire in 2024 and McManus believes that he won’t sign a new deal, meaning Hibs must look to sell him this summer and Rangers could well come looking as they will need a new striker themselves.
“I don’t think Kevin will sign a new deal at Hibs,” he said.
“I don’t think he wants to do that. I think he wants to go. I think he went to Millwall and didn’t fancy it.
“He’s in good form at the minute, he’s playing well. I think there will be bigger clubs in the running for him, bigger money.
“Maybe even Celtic and Rangers having a sniff at him as well. I think he’s capable of stepping up from Hibs.
“He won’t be signing a new deal so Hibs have got to sell him in the summer and maximise the money they’re going to get for him.”
Morelos replacement?
Michael Beale has all but confirmed that Alfredo Morelos will be leaving the club in the summer during an interview with Sky Sports, and that means a replacement is definitely needed.

Antonio Colak has proven he is capable of scoring goals at this level, but he hasn’t really shone outside of that and it doesn’t seem as though he’s the type of striker Beale wants leading the line for his team.
There has been a lot of talk about Lyndon Dykes coming from Queens Park Rangers in the summer, but QPR are likely to try and demand a fairly hefty fee and Nisbet could be a cut-price alternative.
He knows the league, is a good age at just 26, has a point to prove and knows exactly where the back of the net is.
It could prove to be shrewd business, but considering the reports about the striker position for this summer it would take quite a lot to go wrong for Nisbet to end up in a blue shirt.
