Official Ibrox partner reacts as yet another ‘headbutt’ controversy emerges at Rangers
James from Heart and Hand slammed new Rangers signing Thompson Ishaka after he got sent off in a game on Saturday, 22 April.
Playing for the Rangers B side against East Stirlingshire, the 18-year-old winger got caught up in bit of rid mist as he headbutted an opposition player to get a red card.
This is the second controversy related to headbutts at the club after women’s coach Craig McPherson was banned for six games for headbutting Celtic manager Fran Alonso in March.
Via Twitter, the official partner’s podcaster wrote, “Thompson Ishaka is sent off for an attempted headbutt reacting to East Stirlingshire players having a go at him for a foul he committed. Can’t be doing that, as talented as he has shown he can be he has to learn from that.”
Spot on
Ishaka knows better than that and it’s a good thing that he got sent off as this is something he will remember.
It’s best for him to make mistakes and get the petulance out of his system way before he becomes a professional player.
In the academy, the coaches will tolerate it as he’s one of the most talented players there and is very likely a future first team player.

However, if he does it at the senior level, whoever the manager is, will always have it at the back of his mind that he’s someone who cannot be trusted in heated situations.
Ishaka is extremely talented and certainly needs to work a bit on his mentality if he is to truly unleash the potential we all know that he possesses.
It’s fair to say that most Rangers fans are keen to see the player he develops into as he’s clearly got it in him to be a regular.
In other Rangers news, the club may now approach a sporting director who built a Champions League winning team and can hire him for free.
