Steven Davis likely to move on as Rangers transfer latest shared by Daily Record journalist
Rangers midfielder is likely to “move on” this summer, unless he is offered a coaching role at Ibrox, according to Daily Record journalist Gavin Berry.
The veteran Northern Irishman, who turned 38 in January, is currently in his second permanent spell at the club.
But a cruciate ligament injury has limited the midfielder to just eight Scottish Premiership matches this season.

“The veteran midfielder signed a one-year extension but suffered a season-ending injury which he’s battling back from,” Berry wrote for the Daily Record.
“At 38 years old it’s probably time for him to move on, unless a coaching-type role is on offer.”

Summer exit likely
There is undoubtedly going to be a massive shakeup in various areas at Ibrox this summer, with many fans simply waiting for the season to hurry up and finish in order to allow Michael Beale time to prepare for the next campaign.
There is, of course, the small matter of the Scottish Cup still to play for, with the Gers meeting fierce rivals Celtic at Hampden Park later this month.
Plenty of players will be fighting for their futures at the club in that clash and in the rest of the league matches this season, but Davis remains sidelined with his unfortunate injury.
He looks certain to be one of the first players to leave Ibrox this summer given his age, but the midfielder’s experience of both the club and football in general will work in his favour if he does move into a coaching role.
Midfield is one area that Beale will have a sharp focus on when it comes to incomings and outgoings, with the manager set to take on much of the transfer burden after the recent departure of sporting director Ross Wilson.
In other Rangers news, the club earned a huge fee for reaching the final of the 2021/22 Europa League, according to finance expert The Swiss Ramble.
