Ryan Jack ruled out for weeks as fresh Rangers injury blow emerges
Michael Beale has confirmed Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack will be out of action for three to four weeks in a fresh new injury blow for the Gers.
The 31-year-old veteran is currently out of contract at the end of the season and is yet to be offered a new deal to extend his six-year Ibrox career beyond the summer.
The Scotland international has emerged as a key figure for Beale in recent weeks before picking up an injury during the 3-2 defeat against Celtic on 8 April, continuing his worrying injury record.
And Beale, speaking in his press conference [21 April] ahead of Rangers’ crucial clash with Aberdeen on Sunday [23 April] confirmed that Jack will face up to a month out with another injury worry.
Uncertain
While Jack has been in excellent form in recent weeks, especially alongside January signing Nicolas Raskin, this latest injury blow in a long list of injury troubles suffered by the midfield veteran will certainly be worrying Beale and the Rangers board.

With the club looking to overhaul their squad with a fresh new outlook and impetus next season, it is unlikely the former QPR manager will be carrying around injury-prone players in his squad, and Jack is among those frustrating stars.
In order for the Gers to fully compete with Celtic next season, not only will they need much quality in various positions but will need players capable of playing 25-30+ games a season, players who are durable and reliable and given Jack’s disastrous injury record, it is looking increasingly uncertain that Beale will be willing to hand him a new deal.
Rangers may feel the money used to extend his contract could be better served spending it on a much younger and more durable midfielder this summer, which is in line with Beale’s expected squad profile for the future.
If the Light Blues aren’t confident of acquiring another midfielder this summer, then handing Jack a short-term extension could prove the more sensible option. However, the ball is in his court in regard to his fitness should that happen.
