John Lundstram exit mooted as journalist shares Rangers transfer latest
Rangers ace John Lundstram has gone from “best on earth” to “what on earth has happened,” and could leave Ibrox this summer, according to Football Scotland journalist Mark McDougall.
The midfielder joined the Scottish Premiership side from English outfit Sheffield United in 2021.
He has gone on to make 93 appearances for the Gers, 45 of which have come in all competitions this season.

“The Scouser has gone from best on earth to ‘what on earth has happened?’ over the last year but there’s no doubt there is a good player there,” McDougall wrote for Football Scotland.
“But with one year left on his deal, it might be time to cash in on him and let him head back down south where there would be plenty of interest from the Championship and perhaps the lower end of the Premier League given his form in the run to the Europa League final and his previous success with Sheffield United at that level.
“It’s likely that Rangers will look to bring in a midfielder in the summer and with the likes of Nico Raskin, Todd Cantwell and Ryan Jack (if he signs a new deal) ahead of him in the pecking order then Lundstram might fancy a return to England to continue playing regularly at a good level.”

Busy summer ahead
There is certain to be a major shakeup at Ibrox this summer, with manager Michael Beale perhaps already turning an eye to incomings and outgoings.
Rangers still have a Scottish Premiership chase to focus on, as well as a Scottish Cup semi-final clash with fierce rivals Celtic, but a small part of the manager’s mind will be focused on the transfer window.
A long list of senior players are running out of time to impress the manager and warrant a contract extension, while there are others who have perhaps already played their last game in blue.
It remains to be seen which side of the discussion Lundstram is on, but the fact that the midfielder has made a huge number of appearances in all competitions this season strongly suggests that he is a player very much liked by Beale.
Even with the likes of Jack, Raskin and Cantwell, Rangers will need a big squad if they want to challenge on all fronts next season, and Lundstram has proven to be a more than reliable player at the end of the day.
