Cameron Carter-Vickers suffering with knee injury ahead of Scottish Cup semi-final clash between Rangers and Celtic
Celtic defender Cameron Carter-Vickers is suffering with a knee injury that could require surgery ahead of the Scottish Cup semi-final with Rangers.
The Old Firm giants will meet again in two weeks in the Scottish Cup at Hampden Park, with the Hoops on the verge of a fifth treble in seven years if they’re able to beat Rangers in the semi.
But star defender Carter-Vickers has been battling with a knee injury and according to the Daily Record (19 April) he may require surgery on the problem once the semi-final has passed in order to be fit for next season.

“The USA international has been playing through the pain barrier with a knee injury and has remained one of Ange Postecoglou’s top performers,” they wrote.
“But the iron man defender could go under the knife after next weekend’s Scottish Cup semi-final showdown with Rangers in a bid to be fighting fit for the start of next season.”
Attack
The cup semi-final is our final chance of making the season actually count for something, and if Carter-Vickers is injured we have to target him.
Usually he is the defender to avoid as he is by far their best, but if he isn’t at 100% then we must find a way to exploit that and make him work harder than he wants to.

Obviously he will be fit to play as they wouldn’t risk his long-term health, but there will be doubts and Rangers have the quality, pace and ability to cause Celtic problems as they have done in recent weeks.
But we cannot afford to find ourselves making stupid mistakes like we did at Parkhead last time around when we essentially gifted them the 3-2 win, and we have to be more at it than we were when we last faced them at Hampden back in February.
It’s an absolutely massive game for Rangers and Michael Beale, and with this bit of knowledge we have to take advantage of it to get a result.
In other Rangers news, an official club partner has admitted they are “concerned” by the performances of one player.
