Neil McCann wowed by Todd Cantwell on BBC Sportscene as Rangers win v St Mirren
BBC Sportscene pundit Neil McCann was stunned by Todd Cantwell’s goal for Rangers in their 5-2 victory over St Mirren on Saturday (15 April).
The Gers kept the pressure on league leaders Celtic with the thrilling Scottish Premiership win at Ibrox, with the gap reduced to nine points at the top of the table.
And Cantwell got the home side up and running with his well-taken effort in the 26th minute, his second goal for the Gers since his January move from Norwich.
“Beautiful finish from Cantwell though,” McCann said on BBC Sportscene.
“I have to say because the cross is fired low, he knows he has to (lift it) because the keeper’s coming as well.”

Cantwell may have just enjoyed his best match in a Rangers shirt so far, with the midfielder adding two assists to his goal in the important win.
His fine effort was coupled with assists for Alfredo Morelos and Scott Arfield as Rangers ran riot with three goals in the last 10 minutes, with Fashion Sakala having scored the club’s second of the day just after half-time.
Cantwell has come under much scrutiny in his career so far, with the 25-year-old in danger of throwing away his potential not so long ago.
A tough time at Norwich saw him sent out on loan to Bournemouth, but Cantwell couldn’t find any form with the Cherries.
He has, however, put those bad moments behind him with a bright start to his spell at Ibrox, with two goals and five assists from his 13 appearances in all competitions.
Rangers supporters are quickly seeing just why the club were so desperate to bring him to Glasgow, with the midfielder set to become a key player for the Gers in many seasons to come.
In other Rangers news, the Gers want to sign a Ligue 1 winger this summer and he has suggested he could be headed for a summer move.
