Rangers official partner thrilled with ‘fantastic news’ as Ross Wilson statement emerges
Rangers’ official media partners Four Lads Had A Dream are thrilled with the news that Ross Wilson has left Ibrox to join Nottingham Forest.
The Premier League club confirmed on Wednesday night (12 April) that they have hired the now-former Ibrox sporting director as their “chief football officer”.
Forest sought out Wilson, 39, to replace Filippo Giraldi, who was sacked by the East Midlands outfit earlier this week.
Wilson has been widely criticised for the job he’s done at Ibrox in recent months with the Union Bears calling for the sporting director to be sacked.
Four Lads tweeted to say, “fantastic news” in direst response to Forest’s statement.
Fantastic, indeed
Rangers fans have wanted Wilson to be sacked for some time.
Sacking him would have no doubt cost a lot of money but now, it seems the Gers could even be getting paid to lose the services of the hapless “director of failure”.
Douglas Park leaving his role as chairman is a bit of a blow and the onus will now be on John Bennett and his remaining colleagues to replace Wilson.
Do we have faith in them? Perhaps not as much faith as we’d have had if Park was still in charge at Ibrox.
Park can be criticised for certain things but mostly, the 72-year-old’s tenure as chairman at Ibrox was a successful one and to be fair, Wilson played a role in that.
However, Wilson’s failures will be remembered more than anything because not recruiting properly after winning the 2020/21 title allowed Celtic to re-establish themselves at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
In other Rangers news, Kris Boyd has reacted to the news that Wilson is close to leaving.
