Rangers transfer news as Michael Beale shares verdict after Ross Wilson exit
Rangers manager Michael Beale confirmed that the club’s summer transfer plans have been finalised, in the wake of Ross Wilson’s departure to Nottingham Forest, as featured on the club’s official YouTube channel.
Beale was reflecting on the departure of the sporting director who will now take up a similar post at the City Ground, much to the delight of many around Ibrox.
The Ibrox boss played down the extent of any impact caused by the switch due to the plans already being in place, with Wilson’s involvement.

The former QPR manager outlined the work that is ongoing behind the scenes, as well detailing what has previously been arranged for the Summer.
“There’s meetings that have already been had. Pre-season and recruitment has very much been finalised and now it’s just ticking one or two boxes in some areas,” he said.
“Maybe some players that see their futures elsewhere, maybe we think that as well.
“But the main part of recruitment in terms of identifying players has already happened. Now it’s about executing those deals.”

Time to move on
As expected, Beale has paid tribute to Wilson, reflecting the good working relationship that the pair had.
What is more important is the outcome of those plans that are already in place, regardless of the extent of the outgoing sporting director’s input.
Rangers face a massive challenge to go the distance in the Scottish Premiership next season and to do that, recruitment needs to be excellent. There is very little margin for error given the current state of the squad and the required rebuild that will need to take place.
There is so much at stake in the months ahead for Beale’s tenure at Ibrox.
Some players will need to be moved on, and other contract decisions need to be made but most crucially, the requisite quality has to be identified at the right price for Rangers’ budget.
Rangers and Wilson now go their separate ways in a move that is of mutual benefit and especially now.
