Rangers news as Ibrox hierarchy in bitter feud after what Dave King has done

The Rangers hierarchy are again embroiled in a “bitter running feud” with Dave King after the former chairman accused the current board of selling shares too cheaply, according to the Daily Record.

The ex-chairman has also accused the Gers’ hierarchy of squandering their advantage over fierce rivals Celtic, with Michael Beale’s side currently sitting 12 points behind the Hoops, as well as undervaluing the club on the back of their recent successes.

King’s outburst comes after Douglas Park resigned as chairman of Rangers last week (5 April), and his vice-chairman John Bennett had been voted to step up to replace him.

“Former Rangers chairman Dave King has accused the current board of losing the league,” Keith Jackson wrote for the Daily Record (12 April, back page).

“King has reignited a bitter running feud with the Ibrox hierarchy by also claiming they are not receiving top dollar for their shares.

“His blast comes in the wake of a major Blue Room shake-up that saw John Bennett take over as chairman from Douglas Park.”

Prickly

It’s all change at Rangers right now after the club’s struggles over the last 18 months.

With Park stepping down from his role at the top of the club and Bennett taking his place, news has also broken that Nottingham Forest are attempting to lure sporting director Ross Wilson from his position at Ibrox – an update which will certainly go down well with large portions of the fanbase. The club was in dire need of change at the top of the tree, with some fresh ideas being injected into the club necessary.

Although King’s comments about losing the league are rather prickly, he has spoken some harsh truths.

For the past few years, the Rangers slump has started in the Blue Room.

A dreadful transfer strategy, including several players running out of contract at the end of this season, as well as the failure to sack Giovanni van Bronckhorst earlier this season, have been criminal mistakes.

Hopefully, Bennett can provide a higher level of communication with the fans this summer about issues both on and off the pitch, and the club can find a suitable replacement for Wilson if he leaves for the City Ground.

In other Rangers news, fans have been blasted and called “maniacs” for a conspiracy theory after an announcement was made by the SFA.
