Giresunspor defender Alexis Perez urges Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos to leave Ibrox for Galatasaray

Giresunspor defender Alexis Perez has reportedly played up the transfer links and urged Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos to leave Ibrox.

In an interview with Milliyet, the defender was asked about the Colombian’s links to the Turkish side as his contract runs out at the end of the season.

Perez, who’s also from the same country as Morelos, believes that Galatasaray will be a good fit for him and he can score plenty of goals there.

He said, “I don’t know him personally, but I know his football characteristics. He is a player with a very high potential and a strong striker. He scored many goals in Rangers both in the Europa League and the Scottish League.

He did important work. I follow his matches for the Colombian national team. I think he will contribute a lot to Galatasaray.

“He will score a lot of goals in Galatasaray. The more Colombian players come to Turkey, the more I will be happy.”

On his way

The Morelos transfer saga is going to drum on for a few more months until it’s finally decided which club he’s going to.

The same thing happened with Connor Goldson but he ended up signing an extension and is now the first choice at the club.

It does not seem likely that the Colombian is going to do the same thing as he’s had his heart set on an exit for at least the last year.

It’s baffling why the club did not look to cash in on him when they could as there’s never been a shortage of suitors for him.

However, now they will have to see him leave on a free transfer and that will not be ideal as he still may improve before he hits his peak.

For Michael Beale, it’s ideal that players like Morelos are not at the club as he’s not got the right attitude needed to be a success at the club.

In other Rangers news, another Ibrox exit may be on the cards after a major revelation recently which could force the clubs to part ways with a senior player.
