Antonio Colak told to quit Rangers as Michael Beale decision emerges, Ibrox manager doesn’t fancy him
Antonio Colak has been told to quit Rangers in the summer as Michael Beale is clearly not a fan of the Croatian, according to Gary Keown.
Colak, 29, has been dropped to the bench in recent weeks with Alfredo Morelos starting over him in the win over Dundee United and then Saturday’s 3-2 Old Firm defeat at Celtic Park.
Scottish Mail on Sunday columnist Keown believes Morelos’ inclusion in the starting line-up, despite the fact he’s due to leave in the summer when his contract expires, means Beale doesn’t have much faith in Colak.

Writing in the Scottish Mail on Sunday (9 April, page 99), Keown said: “Colak needs to go elsewhere too. Beale clearly doesn’t fancy him. How can he when he keeps him on the bench and goes with this version of Morelos when it matters?”
Bizarre
Colak’s not been in the best form, we admit.
The former PAOK and Malmo striker has scored just two goals in his last 12 Scottish Premiership appearances, spanning back to before the World Cup break started. And both of those goals were in the same game, too.

However, Morelos’ form hasn’t exactly been dazzling, either.
The exit-bound Colombian is without a goal in his last seven league outings.
On top of that, you have his issues with fitness, professionalism and discipline. Oh, and the massive elephant in the room. He’s leaving in the coming weeks.
Colak should at least be with us next season and while Beale might not fancy him, it’s best he sticks with a player who’ll be around next season rather than one who’s got his heart set on being elsewhere.
Beale hasn’t done amazingly as Rangers manager yet. He’s won the games he’s meant to and not beaten Celtic in three attempts.
Is he better than Giovanni van Bronckhorst? To a degree, yes. But at least van Bronckhorst saw the value in Colak, who he signed for £1.8million last year, and got goals out of him.
Beale would rather beat a dead horse rather than stick with the Steady Eddie.
In other Rangers news, Keown also blasted mismanagement of a “breathtaking” scale after what a “rotten” player did at Celtic.
