Rangers transfer news as official approach made for Lawrence Shankland
Rangers have made an official approach on the availability of Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland, according to The 4th Official.
Shankland, 27, has netted 22 goals across 40 appearances this season for Hearts this season, including a stunning hat trick against Celtic last October.
The Glasgow-born striker has amassed five caps for the Scotland international team and is in the hunt for the Scottish Premiership golden boot award this season.

Taking to Twitter on Sunday night (9 April), The 4th Official shared an update regarding the Gers’ interest in Shankland.
“Exclusive from me: Rangers have approached Hearts regarding Lawrence Shankland’s availability,” the Tweet said.
Exciting
Shankland is a proven goalscorer in the Scottish Premiership and it is exciting times that Rangers have been linked with a move for the striker.
Alfredo Morelos looks like he is going to be out of the door in the summer transfer window, with his contract expiring and no news surfacing on an extension, so some serious investment is required in forward areas.
If the Colombian were to leave, Michael Beale would only have the injury-prone Kemar Roofe and Antonio Colak to call upon in forward areas, so a move for Shankland makes a lot of sense.
The Hearts striker looks like he is a ready-made replacement for Morelos at Ibrox and could fit the mould for a Beale forward.
It is exciting times that the Gers have made an enquiry for Shankland, and considering Hearts only spent £500,000 on the attacker last summer, Rangers should be able to pick him up for a modest fee.
Having recorded impressive records of 50 goals from 61 appearances at Ayr United and 32 goals from 59 outings at Dundee United, Shankland looks like a brilliant option for Beale’s side to pursue in the summer transfer window.
