Rangers transfer news as scouts watch Luis Palma again in new mission
Rangers have sent scouts again to the Greek league to watch Aris winger Luis Palma in action against Olympiacos, according to Georgios Sideridis.
Sideridis revealed on 2 April that the Light Blues will be in attendance in the game between Olympiacos and Aris with Palma the focus of attention, with another trip planned it seems.
The Gers are keen to bolster their squad next season, with manager Michael Beale admitting he is hopeful of at least five additions during the summer transfer window.
And Sideridis has again revealed [7 April] that Rangers have sent their scouts to watch Palma for a second time, but are set to face a battle to sign him with many other European sides keeping track.
He said: “Many European clubs are checking Luis Palma and lots will follow too. Rangers have sent again their scouts to watch him in the last game.
“Anderlecht will submit a new bid, January’s €3M bid was rejected. RC Lens are checking him too.”
Hot chase
Rangers obviously have to shop in a different market to much of Europe, and the way their fierce rivals Celtic have succeeded in monopolising the Asian market is something the Light Blues are clearly keen to utilise as they seek to match the Hoops’ stunning recruitment strategy.
And it seems there will be a hot chase of Palma’s signature with many of Europe’s clubs also sending scouts to watch him.

Clubs love it when a young and fresh unknown quantity bursts onto the scene and catches fans by surprise and Palma could certainly be one of those exciting unknown commodities.
The Honduran international has enjoyed a terrific breakthrough season for Aris FC, registering eight goals and two assists from 23 appearances in the Greek Super League.
Dubbed an “impeccable player” by Left Back Football (October 2022) with great passing and dribbling qualities who can play across the entire front line, that’s exactly the kind of profile Beale loves in his setup and Palma could prove to become a huge Ibrox favourite should he join.
And with Celtic dominating in the Scottish Premiership and possessing some of the league’s most decorated technical players, Rangers could well do with more of their own. With Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos set to depart Ibrox this summer, the club will need all the quality they can muster in this summer’s market.
In other Rangers news, another Ibrox exit may be on the cards after a major revelation recently which could force the clubs to part ways with a senior player.
