Kris Boyd rages at Rangers for Ibrox Sunday decision after Celtic footage emerges
Kris Boyd has claimed Rangers are wasting their time after the Gers wrote to the SFA to explain why Alfredo Morelos’ goal was ruled out against Celtic.
The Hoops ran out 3-2 winner at Parkhead to all but secure their 53rd Scottish Premiership title, with the Gers languishing 12 points off the pace.
Speaking on Sky Sports on Sunday (9 April) Boyd was scathing of the decision from Kevin Clancy but insisted the incident should be forgotten about.
“What are they going to do, write back? It’s done, it’s finished move on to the next game,” said Boyd (Sky Sports, 9 April).
“Why waste your time, it’s done, it’s finished move on to the next game. You wonder where the game’s gone if it’s a free kick. It’s good play from Alistair Johnston I must say.
“He knows he’s caught underneath the ball. Alfredo Morelos has a little tug then both of them are tugging at each other and as soon as he gets caught underneath the ball he decides, right I am going to throw myself forward.
“Clancy has bought it. It would be the exact same at the other end as well, if we are chopping off goals for that I wonder where the game is going.”
Ridiculous
The modern-day game has to take a long look at itself. This should never be a foul in any instance. The Canadian has done extremely well to con Clancy, but the referee has to be smarter. Modern-day officials need to recognise when players are trying to buy fouls.
It was a vital moment in the game. Had Rangers gone 1-0 up, the whole complexion of the clash at Parkhead would’ve changed. On the whole, Michael Beale will be pleased with his side’s performance. They managed to dictate large periods of the game and were left ruing individual mistakes.

If those errors can be eradicated when the two sides meet at Hampden Park at the end of the month, Rangers stand a good chance of preventing Celtic from winning a famous treble.
Beale will be extremely pleased with Nicolas Raskin and Todd Cantwell. The January signings have now featured in two Old Firm clashes and are primed to be the difference in the Hampden Park clash.
In other Rangers news, these two players “will depart” Ibrox according to a BBC Sport man
