Rangers defender Ben Davies slammed by official partner in Old Firm loss v Celtic

Rangers defender Ben Davies has been slammed by Heart and Hand during the 3-2 defeat against Celtic in the Old Firm on 8 April.

In a game marred by twists and turns and numerous controversial incidents, it was the league leaders that ended up coming out on top.

Davies made a costly error that saw Kyogo Furuhashi score his second of the game as he continued his form against Rangers.

Heart and Hand, the club’s official media partner, wrote on Twitter, “Disaster from Davies.”

Shocking

This was school-boy-esque defending from Davies and it’s shocking how he’s done that in the biggest league game of the season.

He knows the stakes going into this one and he’s got to do better if he wants to consolidate his spot in the team.

For Michael Beale, this is an eye-opener that the squad is not good enough to challenge for the league and hopefully that message has been sent loud and clear to the board.

Rangers

They have not backed their manager time and again in the past and it’s led to disappointment after disappointment.

This result cannot be attributed to Beale as most people know that he’s not got a squad as good as Celtic to beat them for the league.

However, it now ends the SPFL season for all practical purposes and any little hope that Rangers had of mounting a comeback has now evaporated.

In other Rangers news, another Ibrox exit may be on the cards after a major revelation recently which could force the clubs to part ways with a senior player.
