Barry Ferguson shares what he used to do to Celtic fans in car park on Rangers away days at Parkhead
Rangers legend Barry Ferguson has shared how he used to approach Celtic fans on Old Firm day, with the former midfielder wanting to “absolutely ruin” their weekend by winning the clash.
His comments come ahead of another Old Firm fixture this weekend, with Celtic hosting Rangers in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday (8 April).
The Gers head into the game nine points behind their fierce rivals, who are going strong at the top of the table under Ange Postecoglou.

“Six Old Firm wins at Parkhead since the turn of the century doesn’t make pretty reading,” said Ferguson, as quoted by the Daily Record. “And I’ve played my part in that record too so I’m in no place to get on my high horse.
“But I do know this much, never once did I go there believing we were on a hiding to nothing, no matter the quality lining up on the other side of that halfway line. Never once did I think defeat would be acceptable, never mind inevitable.
“And I made damn sure that everyone else around me felt the exact same way before we stepped off that bus, surrounded by a baying mob in the car park. I’d stick my chest out, look them in the eyes and think to myself, ‘I’m going to do everything in my power to absolutely ruin your weekend!’”

Massive clash
The Old Firm is undoubtedly one of the fiercest derbies in world football, with so much pride at stake among players, coaches and supporters.
Unfortunately the upcoming contest has been slightly diluted by the lack of away supporters in the stadium, but it should still be a lively encounter on the pitch.
Michael Beale and his players will know that their Scottish Premiership charge will pretty much come to an end with defeat at Celtic Park, representing no better incentive for the visitors to step out and spoil things for the hosts.
And if more incentive was needed, the Gers now have the chance to exact revenge on Celtic for the Viaplay Cup final loss in February.
The two Scottish giants will meet again later this month in the Scottish Cup semi-finals, but all eyes are firmly fixed on the league clash this weekend, with Beale desperate to prove that he is the man who can topple Postecoglou’s superb Celtic reign.
