Juan Alegria reveals how ‘excited’ he was to quit Rangers as transfer news emerges
Juan Alegria has revealed how “excited” he was to leave Rangers to return to Finnish side FC Honka on Wednesday (5 April).
The 4th Official revealed on Wednesday that the Gers have banked £100,000 for the sale of Alegria who failed to make a single first-team appearance for the Gers ever since his move to Ibrox 2021.
Despite having a year remaining on his current deal, the Light Blues won’t be incurring any losses and Alegria took to social media on Wednesday [5 April] to say his final farewell to Gers fans.

Speaking on the FC Honka website [5 April], Alegria expressed his joy at rejoining the side as he likes the club’s project, he said:
“Good feelings about returning to Honka! As soon as I heard about the opportunity to come here, I was excited. I like Honga’s project and plans, so it’s great to be here again.
“Of course, it helps me to have been here before. There are of course many new players in the team, but also good acquaintances from last time. I always want to give my best on the field and score as many goals as possible for Honga.”
Inevitable
Given the fact that Alegria had no future at Ibrox, his departure certainly seemed inevitable as both parties needed to move on.
And it also continues the hefty squad revamp that the Gers will undergo in the coming months as Michael Beale looks to refresh the squad ahead of next season.

It most of all seems a good move for Alegria as he desperately needs a news lease of life after his constant struggle at Rangers.
The striker was always going to be up against it to surpass both fellow Colombian Alfredo Morelos and Antonio Colak in Beale’s plans, especially after his pretty average loan moves to Partick Thistle and Falkirk.
No player wishes to be deemed surplus to requirements and it all seems ideal for the player who’s still relatively young to return to a club he’s familiar with, allowing him the opportunity to discover his best self again and probably claim another move across Europe if all goes well.
Farewell.
