Rangers transfer news as Borna Barisic addresses future at Ibrox
Borna Barisic has commented on his future and a potential departure from Rangers on the verge of the final year of his contract at Ibrox.
The Croatian international signed a four-and-a-half-year deal in January 2020, having joined the club the previous season after he had played, and scored, against Rangers for Osijek in the Europa League qualifying rounds.
Now, the next stage is uncertain for the 30-year-old who has contemplated a move away from Glasgow whilst complimenting the existing relations that he enjoys at Ibrox.

Speaking out on his future, as relayed by The Herald, Barisic was already looking ahead to what may happen cone his current contract expires at Ibrox.
“In the summer, I enter the last year of my contract,” he said. “I have a top relationship with everyone at Rangers.
“If I went to another club, I would choose the one that was just like Rangers. But you never know what could happen, the situation could change in a day.”

The upcoming transfer window is guaranteed to be an intriguing one for Michael Beale and Rangers.
Whilst a lot of the focus around potential departures involves Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent, there are several players heading out of contract then there are the likes of Barisic with just one year remaining.
Having been at the club since the Summer of 2018 in Steven Gerrard’s first season, Barisic has played his part along the way, serving Rangers well but this could be the moment to shake hands and part ways.
The club would be able to command a fee for a seasoned professional who is well-established as part of the Croatia squad, having amassed significant experience for both club and country. Also, at his current age, this next contract will be a crucial one for the left-sided player who won’t have a long-term future in Scotland.
Gers boss Beale may well opt to keep Barisic at the club through to the end of his contract, in the hope that Ridvan Yilmaz can emerge from the fringes to secure the left flank berth for himself, in an effective takeover from the Croatian but that remains to be seen.
All eyes will be on this one, now.
