Rangers transfer news as Bayern Munich heist for Malik Tillman on cards – Keith Jackson

Rangers can pull off a transfer “heist” on Bayern Munich if they complete the £5million permanent signing of Malik Tillman, according to Keith Jackson.

The “outstanding” fan favourite has been a standout performer for the Gers this season, recording 10 goals and four assists so far, including his latest double against Dundee United in a 2-0 win on Saturday [1 April].

Rangers reportedly will have to pay around £5-£6m to make the Tillman deal permanent, and Michael Beale confirmed that talks were held over the international break as he wants to sign the 20-year-old.

And Jackson, speaking in the Daily Record [3 April, page 37], said: “It’s not even a question. If Rangers can land this guy for £5m they’ll pull off a heist on Bayern Munich.

“Tillman is top-notch.”

Absolute snip

The 20-year-old playmaker has undergone a brilliant and rapid development under Beale’s management with the former QPR coach providing him with the tactical dynamics and freedom to wreak havoc in a Rangers shirt this season.

Tillman has unquestionably repaid that faith and tactical decision with some superb returns in the final third, so far registering 14 goal involvements from 25 Scottish Premiership games.

And he’s been in remarkable form in recent weeks too with his double against Dundee United taking him to six goals in his last six games for the Light Blues.

With Beale looking to build a youthful, dynamic and exciting squad at the Ibrox, Tillman is certainly one of the centrepieces of that jigsaw and the club would be incredibly silly not to sign him permanently this summer.

£6m for his services is indeed a potential transfer heist as Jackson has pointed out and an absolute snip – a deal the Light Blues must jump at the chance of securing. It will certainly be a surprise for Bayern to let him go for so little.

The American’s movement, intricate technical skills and unique abilities both in the final third and in front of goal certainly make him a complete package at Ibrox, and it is why the Gers must continue to build around him.
