Scottish journalist cannot believe what Rangers fans did at Ibrox v Dundee United
Rangers supporters leaving Ibrox early during the club’s 2-0 victory over Dundee United on Saturday (1 April) was “utterly barmy”, according to The Scotsman journalist Alan Pattullo.
The Gers defeated the bottom-of-the-table club in Glasgow to secure their 10th successive Scottish Premiership victory and keep the pressure on Celtic.
Despite leading the dominant display, many home supporters left the stadium before the final whistle sounded, leaving empty seats scattered around the ground.

“It’s hardly a new phenomenon but home fans streaming out of Ibrox long before the end of Rangers’ 2-0 win over Dundee United on Saturday did seem utterly barmy,” Pattullo wrote for The Scotsman.
“OK, it was not the most compelling of spectacles, but it was the side’s 10th league win in a row since drawing with Celtic in January.
“The players deserved to end a match that secured this sequence with far more of the home fans that made up the vast majority of a crowd of 49,969 still in attendance.”

Disappointing exits
Many fans leave stadiums early for various reasons, with the situation happening at clubs across the world.
Despite the somewhat normal circumstances, Rangers manager Michael Beale and his players will still be disappointed with the early exits, with the club doing their utmost to keep supporters entertained.
Not only did such fortunate fans witness the club’s 10th successive league win, but they also saw Rangers legend Allan McGregor make his 500th appearance in blue.
Despite the superb run, the Gers are still relying on a slip-up from league leaders and fierce rivals Celtic, who have a six-point lead at the top of the table and travel to Ross County today (2 April).
There is, of course, the opportunity for Rangers to take points off the Bhoys in their next league match, but Beale will need a miracle if he is to bring the Scottish Premiership trophy to Ibrox this season.
In other Rangers news, Sky Sports reporter Luke Shanley slammed Dundee United goalkeeper Mark Birighitti for his role in one incident during the clash at Ibrox on Saturday (1 April).
