Finance Expert: Rangers could look for better deal as Castore news breaks
We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Rangers...
Dan Plumley has insisted that Rangers will be targeting a better financial package with Castore as their current deal nears its end next year.
Castore are making a push to rival Adidas and Nike with a push to raise £ 165 million to help their cause for global expansion [Sky News].
Plumley believes that if successful, the sporting manufacturer could attract bigger deals and it is then down to Rangers to be part of that movement.

“If I’m at Rangers and that is me then yes, I’m trying to,” he exclusively told Ibrox News.
“It is logical that you would do that because you should always be targeting growth in a deal, and if Castore has got a global strategy through sport which we have seen, Rangers are a part of that being the first football club they partnered with, the deal has been long term.
“If this side of things goes well for Castore, you expect they will get the capital they want and they will grow, then there is reason to suggest that will lead to bigger deals for them in football in the future and then it’s up to Rangers to be part of that and make those negotiations to get more out of that deal.
“The club will be targeting that, I’m sure and if that goes well for Castore, you can look to strengthen that relationship and then squeeze more out of that deal when it comes to negotiating.”

With Rangers’ current deal worth £20million, it will be down to the club to make sure that increases when negotiating once that expires in 2024.
All eyes will be on Ibrox with a potential swap in shirt sponsors coming too, that windfall has to be in the green afterwards, not the red.
In other Rangers news, the club are in line for a multi-million windfall from the Premier League after a £10m Auchenhowie milestone was reached.
