Sky Sports man slams Dundee United goalkeeper Mark Birighitti after incident v Rangers
Sky Sports reporter Luke Shanley slammed Dundee United goalkeeper Mark Birighitti after his horrible mistake for Malik Tillman’s second goal in their clash with Rangers at Ibrox on Saturday [1 April].
The Gers went 2-0 up when Tillman’s strike went underneath the Dundee goalkeeper and trickled into the back of the net in what was a thoroughly comfortable afternoon for the Gers.
And Shanley slammed the Tannadice Park shot-stopper for his dreadful error live on Sky Sports News.

Jeff Stelling switched the focus to Ibrox, after Tillman’s goal, saying let’s head to Ibrox.
And Shanley responded, reporting: [Sky Sports News, 4:17pm]: “Rangers are 2-0 up and it’s Tillman again, who has been impressive. It was a low shot that went under the goalkeeper Mark Birighitti, who should have done better. Rangers are cruising now.”
Dreadful error
How Birighitti let Tillman’s strike go underneath him we will never know and will not have done his confidence any good. The goalkeeping position is a position filled with much pressure and scrutiny and those kinds of errors are what make it such a gruelling area of the pitch.
Birighitti will be terribly disappointed at that error, however, Tillman won’t mind one bit after registering his sixth goal in his last six games to hand Rangers yet another comfortable victory at Ibrox.

It is now 13 wins in a row in the Scottish Premiership for Michael Beale and his men as they keep the up pressure on Old Firm rivals Celtic. Rangers had a handful of chances to make the game even more comfortable but will certainly have Tillman to thank for his ruthless edge in front of goal.
A dreadful error from Birighitti for the second goal, maybe he’ll need some goalkeeping lessons from Rangers’ 500-man Allan McGregor.
In other Rangers news, another Ibrox exit may be on the cards after a major revelation last week which could force the clubs to part ways with a senior player.
