Michael Beale shares two-word update on Rangers bid to sign Malik Tillman permanently as fresh talks held
Rangers boss Michael Beale has shared that “everything is positive” regarding Malik Tillman’s future at Ibrox as the Gers look to sign him permanently.
The “outstanding” fan favourite has been a standout performer for the Light Blues in the 2022/23 campaign, recording 10 goals and four assists, including his latest double against Dundee United in a 2-0 win on Saturday [1 April].
Rangers reportedly will have to pay £6.2million to make the Tillman deal permanent, and Michael Beale has confirmed that talks were held over the international break as he wants to sign the 20-year-old USA international.
Rangers Review journalist took to his Twitter account [1 April] to report the update regarding Tillman’s future from the words of Beale.
He tweeted: “Michael Beale says “everything is positive” regarding Malik Tillman’s future and confirms there were more talks over the international break regarding his future.”
Absolute snip
The 20-year-old playmaker has undergone a stark and rapid development under Beale’s management with the former Queens Park Rangers coach providing him with more of a refined and dynamic advanced role in the Rangers midfield.
Tillman has unquestionably repaid that faith and tactical decision with some superb returns in the final third, so far registering 14 goal involvements from 25 Scottish Premiership games.

And he’s been in remarkable form in recent weeks too with his double against Dundee United taking him to six goals in his last six games for the Light Blues.
With Beale looking to build a youthful, dynamic and exciting squad at the Ibrox, Tillman is certainly one of the centrepieces of that jigsaw and the club would be incredibly silly not to sign him permanently this summer.
£6m for his services is an absolute snip and a deal the Light Blues must jump at the chance of securing.
The American’s movement, intricate technical skills and unique abilities both in the final third and in front of goal certainly make him a complete package at Ibrox, and it is why the Gers must continue to build around him.
He’s a must-have.
In other Rangers news, another Ibrox exit may be on the cards after a major revelation last week which could force the clubs to part ways with a senior player.
