Ross Wilson transfer miss on Antoine Semenyo a blessing in disguise for Rangers
When Rangers missed out on a January move for Antoine Semenyo, fans were rightly disappointed, however this transfer miss could have ended up as a blessing in disguise.
The Gers were linked with a move for the 23-year-old in the winter window as he entered the last six months of his contract at Bristol City, with the club prepared to offer £5million for his services. [Sports World Ghana]
However, as has become a norm under Ross Wilson in recent years, the Glasgow club missed out on their target as the young forward sealed a £10.5million move to Premier League club Bournemouth.

All has not gone to plan for Semenyo since transferring his allegiances to the Cherries, having failed to find the back of the net or create an assist from six appearances and looking a shade of the player who scored goals for fun at Ashton Gate.
According to WhoScored, in his most recent start against Arsenal, Semenyo failed to register a single shot, key pass or successfully complete a dribble, a worrying trend that was repeated in his 31 minute cameo against Aston Villa last time out.
It seems, whether purposefully or not, that Wilson and Rangers may have saved themselves £5million of pocket money, which can instead be spent on finding a replacement for Alfredo Morelos in the summer transfer window.

The Colombian looks all but certain to be on his way out of Ibrox at the end of the season, and missing out on Semenyo has allowed Michael Beale to properly scout out potential replacements in the meantime.
Beale heaped the pressure on Wilson in a recent press conference by admitting that he was looking to sign at least five players in the summer transfer window, and missing out on the Ghana international allows the Gers boss that little bit more wiggle room when it comes to bidding power.
With Antonio Colak and the injury-prone Kemar Roofe the only other options apart from Morelos that Beale possesses in the centre-forward position, a significant outlay this summer is expected.
Whether Rangers have the money to find this missing piece of the puzzle is questionable, but saving £5million in the January transfer window will definitely have helped plans for the summer.
In other Rangers news, an Ibrox ace is surely going to leave as a club are after him who have the perfect sales pitch.
