Rangers tipped to hunt deal for Danish wonderkid Gustav Isaksen as ‘absolutely certain’ verdict emerges
We’re delighted to welcome Tam McManus as our exclusive Rangers columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Ibrox…
Tam McManus has backed Rangers to look into signing FC Midtjylland wonderkid Gustav Isaksen as they look to strengthen their squad in the summer.
Isaksen, 21, has been in top form in Denmark this season, scoring 13 goals and supplying three assists in 34 appearances across all competitions for Midtjylland.
The Denmark Under-21s forward scored three of those goals in Europe, netting against Lazio twice and Feyenoord in the Europa League group stages earlier in the campaign.
Isaksen is primarily a right-sided winger, a position Rangers will be needing to strengthen in the summer as it’s long been a weakness in their side.
McManus has tipped Ross Wilson and his scouts to watch Isaksen as well as other players in Europe who could be within the Gers’ budget.
“Isaksen is a young player, a 21-year-old. He’s played a lot of games for Midtjylland already in Denmark and scored a few goals in the Europa League,” McManus told Ibrox News.
“I’m absolutely certain Rangers will have scouts everywhere and watching a lot of games.
“I’m sure that if a young player is doing well at a smaller club in Denmark, I’m absolutely sure Rangers will be over him.”

Isaksen has already been linked with top leagues in Europe and he’ll enter the final two years of his contract at Midtjylland in the summer, meaning he’s more than likely going to be sold off.
Speaking in September, Midtjylland’s sporting director Svend Graversen confirmed an offer of around £13million was made for Isaksen from a Premier League club in the summer [Football Italia].
In other Rangers news, this Ibrox coach is being tipped to leave Govan for a “big club in England” as managerial speculation emerges south of the border.
