Rangers: Alan Brazil reacts to Craig McPherson incident as Ally McCoist predicts ‘massive trouble’
Alan Brazil has reacted to the “shocking” incident that took place in the SWPL1 match between Rangers Women and Celtic Women on Monday (28 March).
Rangers Women’s assistant Craig McPherson appeared to headbutt Celtic boss Fran Alonso from behind following the 1-1 draw.
And both Brazil and fellow pundit Ally McCoist have expressed their shock at the incident, with the Rangers assistant heading for “massive trouble” following the headbutt.

“What is going on up there? With the wee nod of the head, have a bit of that; Glasgow kiss,” Brazil said on the talkSPORT Breakfast Show, as quoted by the Daily Record.
McCoist responded: “Shocking. He has just lost the head. He has just lost it,” with Brazil replying: “He’s in trouble. Headbutting the Celtic coach, though. I mean, come on.”
McCoist concluded: “He’s in massive, massive trouble.”

Ugly scenes
It was a moment of madness from Malky Thomson’s number two, who lost his cool after watching his side concede a 99th-minute equaliser on a tense evening.
There is no excuse for such actions in football, and McPherson will soon find that out the hard way as he prepares himself for an SFA hearing.
The ugly scenes marred a fantastic spectacle in front of the TV cameras, with the coach letting his players, the club and of course himself down.
Along with an SFA hearing, McPherson can expect punishment from Rangers, who will be forced to take action in order to set an example and ensure this situation does not repeat itself.
It definitely isn’t the first incident in a match involving Rangers and Celtic, and will no doubt be the last between the fierce rivals.
McCoist obviously knows the club well, so his comments certainly ring true, with his former club set to take decisive action against the coach.
In other Rangers news, Jermain Defoe has predicted a “special season” for the club next time out if they stick by manager Michael Beale.
