Rangers and Celtic news as investigations underway – Sky Sports
Rangers coach Craig McPherson is reportedly being investigated for an alleged headbutt on Celtic Women boss Fran Alonso.
According to Sky Sports [28 March], the police are investigating this while Gers are carrying out their own investigation with the Scottish FA’s compliance officer to look into the incident as well.
This happened after the Old Firm women’s game on Monday, 27 March, with McPherson approaching Alonso on the pitch at Broadwood Stadium

A Celtic spokesperson added: “Clearly this is a hugely concerning incident, falling well below any acceptable standard.
“We understand the matter is now being investigated and it will be up to all relevant authorities to take any appropriate action.”
Out of hand
Things look to have escalated beyond what many thought they would and an investigation is the right way to go about things.
There are going to be two sides to the story and it remains to be seen what revelations come to light in the next few days.
There’s no place for violence in the sport be it on the pitch and off it and even though tempers get flared, there are better ways to deal with the situation.

It’s good to see Rangers conducting their own investigation as they could separately look to sanction McPherson if they do find him guilty.
Until then, it does not make any sense to pass a verdict one way or another and it’s best to let the authorities to do their job and get to the bottom of this.
Be it men’s or women’s Old Firms, there has to be some controversy each time the two Glasgow rivals take on each other.
In other Rangers news, another Ibrox exit may be on the cards after a major revelation last week which could force the clubs to part ways with a senior player.
