Ross Wilson to land £5m+ after Glen Kamara Rangers development

Glen Kamara is a player who has flattered to deceive during his time at Rangers – and he could be destined to depart during the summer.

Michael Beale looks set to complete a major overhaul of his squad and that could lead to the 27-year-old being deemed surplus to requirements.

It will be a disappointing moment if and when Kamara does depart Ibrox. He’s a midfielder who could easily play at a higher level, but his inconsistency will ultimately prove to be his downfall. His performance against Hearts was one of the best individual displays of the season, but he’s failed to follow it up.

Nice were reportedly (The Scottish Sun, 1 September) after Kamara in the summer, with a £10million offer on the table. Rangers won’t get that sort of money now, but after the 27-year-old’s international display for Finland, they do stand a good chance of recouping a significant fee if they do choose to sell.

He was excellent during Finland’s 1-0 win over Northern Ireland on Sunday (26 March), a performance which would’ve caught the eye of potential suitors. He’s contracted to Rangers until 2025, which means the Light Blues are in a strong position when it comes to his exit.

Rangers

Considering, they were offered £10million in the summer, a reasonable asking price now would be upwards of £5million for the midfielder.

He’s still got five to six years left in him, he’s performing well at international level, and he has experience playing in the most highly pressurised derby fixture in World football.

This could well be a cash cow for Ross Wilson to exploit and selling the midfielder for £5million plus could leave Beale with a healthy transfer kitty heading into the latter stages of the window.

In other Rangers news, a midfield gem could be the catalyst for the manager to overturn Celtic if Ross Wilson takes advantage of the player’s miserable luck to bring him to Ibrox.
