Rangers and Celtic to make unforgivable mistake by following lead of SFA
Rangers look set to make an unforgivable mistake by following in the footsteps of the Scottish FA and the ridiculous pricing of their anniversary kit.
The Times journalist, Michael Grant has shared that both Rangers and Celtic release “Staggering” amounts of merchandise, and the prices will only increase.
The Bears are no strangers to new merchandise with Castore, with four kits a season and partnerships such as the AC/DC range being released midway through seasons.

Writing for The Times, Grant did not hold back in his assessment of not only the SFA, but the Old Firm clubs who are likely set to follow soon.
“Usually it is Celtic and Rangers fans who are milked by their clubs on an industrial scale,” he wrote.
“The amount of official merchandise from Celtic and Rangers is staggering. And it sells because if it didn’t this stuff wouldn’t be churned out in the first place.
“Those Old Firm clubs can enjoy the SFA taking heat this week, not least because the £90 barrier has been breached for a strip and, in time, they will eventually follow. £50 was once unthinkable and disgusting for a football top, now £90 is, soon £100 will be.”

Staggering.
Of course, this would be a shocking mistake.
Fans may continue to purchase shirts and merchandise, but you cannot use their loyalty as an excuse to rinse them of their hard-earned cash throughout the year.
Do Rangers really need to release so much? We have gone through seasons before only seeing the third and fourth strips literally less than a handful of times.
Celtic can do what they want, but the fact that both Old Firm clubs are being dragged through the dirt shows a wider issue here, and the Scottish FA may now be at the heart of that.
Should the prices keep creeping up as expected, there will be some backlash and that is the last thing needed in the Ibrox boardroom given the current troubles.
Fans are not happy as it is in Govan, so it is time to take the smart step and start doing things for the fans, not using them and rinsing them of cash.
In other Rangers news, this Ibrox coach is being tipped to leave Govan for a “big club in England” as managerial speculation emerges south of the border
