Rangers midfielder Steven Davis may be forced to hang up his boots if his recovery does not go as per plan, claims Dr Rajpal Brar.
According to the injury expert, the best outcome is that he returns by August or September next season as it’s a pretty grave injury.
The 38-year-old suffered a double ACL tear during an accident in training ahead of Christmas in 2022, which was initially disclosed as a knee injury.

However, he set the record straight in February and admitted with a heavy heart that his season is over as he’s set to be ruled out for several months.
Discussing this injury coupled with his age, exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said, “The best outcome is that he’s ready to return in August or September and has minimal knock-on effects.
“On the other hand, the worst possible outcome is that he’s unable to return at all and has to call it a career.
“There’s always a chance of not being the same player after an ACL reconstruction, particularly at his age with all the cumulative effects from years of playing.
“One positive is he does have previous experience navigating a long-term injury which always helps the process, especially mentally.“

Davis’ contract at Ibrox expires at the end of the season and there appear to be no talks over a new deal being handed to him.
He remains unlikely to return for pre-season, given the timescale mentioned above and it will be a decision the hierarchy will have to make.
The 38-year-old has been since 2019, which is his second spell at the club with the first being from 2008-2012.
In other Rangers news, a pundit with insider information at Ibrox has shared one condition that will make Douglas Park leave the club.
