Rangers: Michael Beale job safety speculation emerges on radio, pundit shares emphatic Ibrox view

We’re delighted to welcome Tam McManus as our exclusive Rangers columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Ibrox

Tam McManus doesn’t see Michael Beale coming under any pressure at Rangers regardless of what happens between now and the end of the season.

Although Beale has won all but two matches in charge of the Gers since his appointment in November, the Englishman has had his critics for drawing with Celtic in the Scottish Premiership and then losing in an Old Firm clash in the Viaplay Cup final at Hampden Park.

Beale has one of the most pressurised jobs in English football but it was a surprise to see the ex-QPR manager’s future at Ibrox being discussed on Go Radio earlier this month.

Ibrox legend Barry Ferguson had to talk down any speculation of Beale losing his job, via the Scottish Daily Express, and McManus also believes it’s nonsense to think Beale won’t be in charge of the Light Blues come next season.

Speaking to Ibrox News, McManus said: “There’s no chance he’ll be let go.

He’s only had one blip so far and that was the Viaplay Cup final against Celtic when they didn’t really turn up.

Up here, in Rangers v Celtic – you’ve got to win. Second is last.

I think they’ve won every league game bar one so Beale’s shown this season, since he’s come in, that he’s capable of getting results.

Rangers

Beale had the January transfer window to add to the Rangers squad he inherited from Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Nicolas Raskin and Todd Cantwell were brought in and McManus believes Beale will continue to put his own mark on the squad in the upcoming summer transfer window.

He will definitely be fine for this season but there’ll be a big summer ahead,” McManus added.

They’ve got a lot of players out of contract who’ll need replacing so he’s got a great opportunity with a blank canvas in front of him.

Next season will be the time to judge Beale when he has his own team.

“I don’t think he’ll be under any scrutiny this summer but at the start of next season, you’ll see Rangers fans and everybody judging him as it’ll be his team.”

In other Rangers news, this Ibrox coach is being tipped to leave Govan for a “big club in England” as managerial speculation emerges south of the border.
