Rangers could get Ryan Kent contract extension answer in coming days – Daily Record

Rangers could get an answer to whether or not Ryan Kent will sign a new contract with the club in the coming days, according to the Daily Record.

The Gers winger is currently set to leave the club at the end of the season with his contract expiring and no renewal offer on the table at Ibrox.

But boss Michael Beale has admitted that talks are set to take place during the international break about a new deal, and a new report suggests the club could get an answer from the 26-year-old this week.

“Rangers could be handed a contract decision from Ryan Kent in the coming days – with Michael Beale stating crucial talks will take place with the Scottish Premiership on hold,” they wrote (21 March).

Huge

It’s been the biggest question of the entire season for anyone associated with Rangers, and it is now coming to a head.

Kent has been one of the best players at the club since he joined from Liverpool under Steven Gerrard, but he is now at a stage in his career where he needs to kick on whether that is at Ibrox or elsewhere.

There has been Premier League interest in the past and reportedly is again currently for this summer, but Rangers can offer him things none of those sides can.

Rangers

He is competing for trophies here every season and is almost always guaranteed a chance of European football, which is a chance for him to really shine and give himself a platform.

But if he is going to leave the club then Rangers must be in a position to react and replace him, and the longer it goes on without an answer the more difficult it will become to get plans in place.

We need to know what is happening because the club will always come first, so an answer in this break would be ideal for everyone.
