
Rangers transfer news as teenage talent Filip Skorb set to trial at Ibrox within days
Rangers are in the middle of a transfer tussle with Newcastle and Leeds United to land teenage striker Filip Skorb, according to the Daily Record.
It is said that the Light Blues are keen to sign the “free-scoring” Portobello CFA Thistle wonder for their academy – but they face stiff competition from the two Premier League clubs.
The striker looks set to play for the Light Blues as a trialist in a youth tournament against Manchester United this weekend with the youngster already undergoing a successful trial at Leeds.

According to the Daily Record [20 March], Rangers are willing to rival both clubs to secure the signature of the young wonderkid.
Skorb doesn’t have the first-team experience Michael Beale will be looking for in the short term, but the ex-QPR boss will be eying this signing up as a promising option for the future.

The Gers will be looking to match Leeds United’s progress with the young forward as he undergoes his trial this weekend. Ultimately, it will be up to the player to decide which club he joins when it comes down to it but he certainly holds some promising options at his disposal.
The academy at Ibrox has certainly grown considerably in recent months, having already snapped up Northern Irish youngsters Callum Burnside and Blaine McClure,

Beale is renowned for his expert work with the Liverpool youth academy and his managerial expertise in bringing through academy talent and getting the best out of them.
That will be a major factor in Skorb’s thinking when he makes his decision, as he weighs up which club will provide him with the easier pathway to the first team.
The Gers will be hoping they are the favoured candidates but also will be excited to add another young talented forward to their youth weaponry following in the footsteps of the gifted Robbie Ure.
