Nicolas Raskin sparks injury worry for Rangers with Instagram message after withdrawing from international duty
Nicolas Raskin has sparked worry among Rangers fans after a message on Instagram where he announced he was withdrawing from international duty.
The Belgium Under-21 star was called up to represent his nation during the upcoming international break for games against Czech Republic and Japan.
But after missing the 4-2 win over Motherwell at the weekend (18 March), Raskin has now dropped out of the squad with injury and his message on his personal social media page has got fans worried he could miss an extended period of time.

“Unfortunately I will not be playing for Belgium U21 in the upcoming 2 matches due to a small injury,” he wrote (20 March).
“I’ll be back soon.”
Rest up
Raskin has played plenty of football since coming to Rangers, and there was a situation not too long ago where Michael Beale admitted he was struggling with fatigue.
But the Belgium midfielder should now get two weeks off to rest and recover from his “small” injury, and the hope would be that then he will be available to return to action for the side Dundee United.

However with the “be back soon” message, there is some worry that he could be missing for a bit longer than that, and that would be a huge problem.
The team have been way off the pace when he hasn’t been on the pitch, and he has already established himself as the number one central midfielder at the club.
As we chase down Celtic and prepare for a huge semi-final later in April, we need him to be fit and raring to go for the final run in the season and fingers crossed he isn’t leading us astray when he says he’ll be back soon.
In other Rangers news, the board should now be feeling the pressure after images emerge from stands in 4-2 win over Motherwell.
