Malik Tillman could see Rangers position changed as Michael Beale makes midfield decision
Malik Tillman could be set for a position change at Rangers as Michael Beale settles on a new-look midfield for the club, according to Andy Newport.
The Gers claimed a 4-2 win over Motherwell to on Saturday (18 March) to make it eight consecutive wins on the road in the Scottish Premiership, keeping the gap between us and Celtic at nine points.
Beale was without the American from the start as he continues recovery from an injury, and according to the Daily Record journalist (20 March) he could be set to return to the team in a new position to accommodate Ryan Jack, Nicolas Raskin and Todd Cantwell playing together more regularly.

“Ryan Jack and Todd Cantwell have developed an understanding in recent weeks but that leaves out Malik Tillman,” he wrote.
“Beale hinted he might use the on-loan Bayern ace as a false striker alongside a traditional centre-forward as he did with his late Fir Park cameo and perhaps that is the best way to shoehorn in all his top stars.”
Interesting
Going forward Rangers have always had a lot of options in the team, but there was usually a selection that made more sense than any other and was clearly the go-to option.
That doesn’t necessarily seem to be the case now with all of Alfredo Morelos, Antonio Colak, Ryan Kent, Todd Cantwell, Fashion Sakala Jr and Tillman performing well whenever they play and in any combination.

It’s a great position for Michael Beale to be in, and with Tillman being able to play in a variety of positions it opens up the possibility of more of those attackers being on the pitch together at different times.
Tillman has shown great quality and ability during this loan spell, and it seems almost a given that the club will look to trigger their option to make the deal permanent.
But he will be very keen to be playing as regularly as possible, so it will be very interesting to see how the club will manage this situation and what lineup Beale will eventually settle on as his preference.
