Rangers refuse to throw in towel as 'alarm bells' ring over Alfredo Morelos situation at Ibrox
Speculation suggesting Alfredo Morelos has agreed a pre-contract deal at Sevilla has caused alarm bells to sound at Rangers, according to Vamos Mi Sevilla.
The Spanish news outlet, that initially reported on 10 March that Morelos, 26, is on his way to Sevilla, have now claimed that Rangers chiefs have awakened to the prospect of losing the Colombian and could renew his contract at Ibrox.
It is understood that Rangers “are not throwing in the towel” after “alarm bells” went off at Ibrox over Morelos, whose existing terms expire at the end of the season, meaning he’s free to talk to other clubs right now.
Get rid
We’re all a bit fed up of the Morelos saga.
Since joining us, he’s been an incredible servant to the club in front of goal by scoring goals that have won us a Scottish Premiership title and fired us to a Europa League final.

But off the field, he’s been a bit of a liability and now is the time to finally get rid.
Unfortunately, the time to get rid of Morelos was actually over 12 months ago when Lille were making a big effort to sign him.
We’d have received big money for the ex-HJK striker then.
Now, he’s destined to leave for free.
We doubt that Rangers have made a U-turn on Morelos.
They’ve known since January that he’s been free to talk to other clubs about signing a pre-contract deal so it wouldn’t take some website in Spain to report about Sevilla to spark some action from the Ibrox hierarchy.
Morelos is a modern-day hero at Ibrox. But every dog has their day and it’s definitely time for Morelos to say adios and leave Govan for good.
