Rangers boss Michael Beale reveals there is ‘no truth’ in rumours linking Alfredo Morelos with summer exit

Rangers manager Michael Beale has revealed there is “no truth” to the rumours linking Alfredo Morelos with a summer exit from Ibrox, as relayed to the Daily Record.

Morelos has dominated many headlines in recent weeks, with various reports suggesting he has agreed a pre-contract with Sevilla, with the striker’s current deal expiring at the end of the season.

But Beale has put an end to those rumours by confirming that there is no truth behind them, with the manager delighted with Morelos’s commitment lately.

“I’ve spoken with Alfredo (Morelos) about the recent rumours and there is no truth in that,” said Beale, according to the Daily Record. “We will sit down and discuss his situation later in the season.

“Since I have returned Alfredo has been fantastic, there have been no issues whatsoever and I think people sometimes try to force this. If you look at his goal involvement per game you can see his quality.

“I want to build something for the next three/four years. The club have a lot of options this summer. There are almost two jobs going on. Improving the team now and behind-the-scenes working towards what Rangers will look like when we return for pre-season.”

Rangers

Time will tell

While Beale remains convinced that Morelos’s heart is still with Rangers, many fans of the Glasgow outfit will have a different opinion.

That said, the Colombian has been strongly linked with an Ibrox exit before, yet remained loyal to the Scottish Premiership club each time.

With just 10 goals from his 37 appearances in all competitions, Morelos has been far from his best this season, but supporters will hope there are still a few moments of magic for the remainder of the campaign.

Beale has favoured Antonio Colak going forward in recent weeks, with that decision perhaps a sign of what is to come in the project that the manager is currently building at Ibrox.

The manager looks set to delve into the transfer window in the summer, and despite being just 26, Morelos may be one of the players that will be forced to make way for any new recruits.
